Senior Nutrition Scientist
Harrisburg, PA (relo assistance)

My client is looking for a Senior Nutrition Scientist who will be a part of an innovative research team investigating the health benefit research on chocolate, cocoa, nuts and other ingredients. The Senior Nutrition Scientist will assist in developing and managing new nutrition science projects, support product development and nutritionally-oriented claims as well as work towards the development of an internal Health and Wellness program and communicate relevant nutrition science information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage external nutrition-related research projects including hypothesis development, experimental design, research product development, monitor ongoing research and provide status updates.
- Maintain positive relationships with leading scientists and the ability to network among this group.
- Review scientific literature regarding new scientific concepts, technologies or concepts; review evidence to support product development and claims and write clear detailed scientific reports and/or presentations on these reviews.
- Act as nutritional expert on specific projects and cross-functional innovation and product development teams. This duty requires working with food scientists, marketing professionals, lawyers and government relations both with internal and external experts
- Be a part of communication efforts, including researching and writing articles for the periodic newsletter, website, trade show or health professional conferences, including the preparation and planning of the Health & Wellbeing Advisory Board meeting and other events.
- Be an integral part of developing and implementing internal health and wellness scientific research, product development and policy program/strategy.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MS is Nutrition, Biochemistry or Related Field is required
- Minimum of 3 years of nutrition-related research experience (post-graduate and post-doctoral experience is acceptable).
- Registered Dietitian credential is preferred, but not required.
- Must have experience working for a food/beverage or nutrition company.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Registered Dietician
The San Benito Health Foundation Community Health Center in Hollister, California is seeking aPublic Health professional for the position of Registered Dietician.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Counseling WIC participants, CPSP prenatal patients, and at-risk patients from the medical clinic.
- Assist in the development of nutrition education classes and chronic disease prevention classes.
- Must be a team player and be willing to take a role in multiple programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in dietetics or related field.
- Current Registered Dietician certification required.
- Commitment to working in community health.
- Intermediate computer skills and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of software

Dietary assessment data are used to (1) determine diet and disease associations, (2) develop nutrition and physical activity intervention programs, (3) assess dietary adequacy, (4) examine nutrient-gene interactions, and (5) monitor nutrition transition. Populations include the Inuit, Inuvialuit, Alaska Natives, Apache, Navajo, First Nations and African-Barbadians, among others.
Position responsibilities include:
- Development of population specific Food Composition Tables for analysis of dietary intake
- Performing literature reviews
- Assisting with data analysis, manuscript writing and presentation preparation
- Assisting with grant preparation and submission
Knowledge of nutrition, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. Experience in a research environment is preferred. We are seeking someone with good teamwork skills and cross-cultural awareness. A bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field is required and a master’s, or Ph.D, is preferred.
