This teleseminar will help you empower yourself and your clients/patients about botanical medicines with effective counseling strategies.
Learning Objectives:
- Review common issues and key information related to botanical medicine use in chronic kidney disease
- List potential concerns and risks of botanical medicine use
- Identify practical strategies for guiding and empowering clients/patients with regard to botanical medicines
- Describe the theories and principles of motivational interviewing
- Use the spirit and key skills of motivational interviewing to elicit information from clients about botanical medicines
- Apply botanical knowledge and counseling strategies to a case study

- Describe when to use oral and enteral nutrition support in the older adult,
- Recognize potential problems that occur in the older adult receiving enteral feeding,
- State therapeutic measures that must be taken when certain clinical conditions exist,
- Discuss the various feeding methods — bolus, continuous, nocturnal,
- Identify ethical questions concerning tube feeding at end-of-life.
